HurdyGurdyHotDog

With HurdyGurdyHotDog, absurdist musical theatre, carnivalesque puppetry, and acousamatic sound explore the relationships between carnival cart vendors, carnival foods, and condiments.

For pad - performance art depot’s International Performance Festival, HurdyGurdyHotDog will be expanded to include two video-projections to be projected above the performers (see examples of previous work utilizing the dual projections from the images provided, especially Infernal Cakes/Adjacent Manias).

The projections will illustrate what is happening inside the hotdog & ice cream carts. The projections will be synched with the performance. The performers and the video-projections will communicate verbally and sing together. The video-projections will represent what is going on inside of the carts, where the hot dogs, the pickles, and the ice-cream cones live. Utilizing projection and syncing in this way will allow for an expanded performance, with fewer performers needed to travel.
